Mid-ventricular wall thickness is measured in infarct (A), adjacent (B), remote (C) segments at end-systole (red) and end-diastole (black) at baseline and post-MI (*p < 0.05 vs. end-diastole, †p < 0.05 vs. end-systolic baseline.). While no significant wall thickening from end-diastole to end-systole is present in infarct and adjacent segments at early post-MI, the wall thickening in adjacent segments is improved (p < 0.05) at late post-MI. This observation is not present in MI segments.
