White bars indicate data from the healthy elderly participants, and gray bars indicate data from the heart failure (HF) elderly participants. As shown, although blood flow in the aorta (ascending and descending portions) augmented with submaximal exercise in both HF and healthy elderly participants, blood flow did not display a commensurate increase in the superficial femoral artery in participants with HF.
