The artifact seen in the phase encode (PE) direction with Cartesian trajectory (top row) is eliminated with radial k-space filling (bottom row). The histograms reveal a significant reduction in artifact scores (on a scale of 1–4) and maximum width of dark rim artifacts (DRA) with the radial technique (Sharif et al., abstract O3).
