(B) Corresponding tissue Doppler imaging, showing qualitatively similar relative lateral MA velocity profiles between the same two patients. Note that the patient with diastolic dysfunction had a decreased early diastolic annular velocity (e′) but an increased atrial systole velocity (a′), resulting in e′/a′ reversal that is typical of diastolic dysfunction.
