Article-processing charges

Open access publishing is not without costs. Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance therefore levies an article-processing charge of £1600.00/$2500.00/€2030.00 for each article accepted for publication, plus VAT or local taxes where applicable. We routinely waive charges for authors from low-income countries. For other countries, article-processing charge waivers or discounts are granted on a case-by-case basis to authors with insufficient funds. Authors can request a waiver or discount during the submission process. For further details, see our article-processing charges page.

JCMR is the official journal of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR). From 1st July 2018, submissions from SCMR members will be charged a reduced article-processing charge of USD $500. More information on becoming an SCMR member can be found on the SCMR website.

Submissions prior to 1st July 2018 will have the full APC covered by the SCMR if this was previously arranged before 1st July 2018.

For non-members of the Society, some or all of the publication cost may be covered if the corresponding author's institution participates in our open access membership program (more details available on the membership page).

BMC provides a free open access funding support service to help authors discover and apply for article processing charge funding. Visit our OA funding and policy support page to view our list of research funders and institutions that provide funding for APCs, and to learn more about our email support service.
