The borders of the endocardial extent of infarction are indicated by dashed lines. Within each image the total MaR is given as a percent of left ventricle. The upper panel shows a patient with an aborted infarction, the middle panel a patient with > 90% myocardial salvage and the lower panel a patient with 40% myocardial salvage. Note the difference in size of the MaR by T2-weighted imaging and endocardial extent of infarction for the patient with an aborted infarction and the patient with > 90% myocardial salvage.
